Egg mask: 5 recipes for your skin

1. Egg whites for the face

Among the traditional homemade masks for wrinkles, which our grandmothers used since they were young, is that of egg white with honey; a combination that provides firmness to the dermis, so that it looks younger and brighter. Here we explain this recipe to top our list of 5 egg face masks.

Start by beating the egg white in a bowl until foamy. Next, add the tablespoon of honey (it is recommended that it be lukewarm) and mix well until the two ingredients are completely integrated, forming a light paste. 

Before applying the mask it is advisable to cleanse the face well, if you want you can use reusable make-up remover discs with a little micellar water to remove all impurities and have a clean face. Then, with the help of a brush, spread the paste all over the skin, applying a very homogeneous layer. Let the mask act for 15 minutes and, finally, rinse the face with warm water to remove the residue. You can do this procedure twice a week to keep the skin smooth and rejuvenated.

2. Masks for spots

Egg white and its properties stand out for being a natural whitener , thanks to its high content of antioxidants that attenuate spots and tone skin tone. To apply the mask, your face must be clean and dry. Now, spread the paste in circular motions all over your face and leave it on for 15 minutes. After this time, you can rinse the skin with warm water and dry with a towel to remove excess moisture. This treatment can be applied once a week, preferably at night.

3. Remove impurities

The skin accumulates dirt and pollution every day, not to mention makeup residue, which can cause blackheads and increase the risk of acne. With this cleansing mask you can alleviate this problem if you use it weekly.

Start by beating the egg white in a bowl with the help of a fork until slightly foamy. After washing your face with warm water, neutral soap and drying it well, place a strip of toilet paper over your nose and with the brush dipped in the egg white, begin to moisten the paper so that it sticks to the skin.

Perform this procedure on the T-zone, cheeks and other critical areas where you have blackheads. Let the entire mixture dry for half an hour, and then begin carefully removing the paper strips. 

If any residue remains, wash your face with lukewarm water until all the mixture is removed. Finally, dry your face well and apply your usual moisturizer.

4. Egg yolk for dry skin

Face masks must be adapted to the type of skin and meet the specific needs of the dermis. In the case of dry skin, the egg yolk is beneficial due to its fat content, providing nutrients and moisturizing.


  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tbsp. almond oil
  • 1 tbsp. greek yogurt

You just have to mix all the ingredients until they are integrated. Apply the mask on the face and neck with circular movements, leaving it to act for 15 minutes. At the end of the time, rinse with warm water and dry the face well. To enhance the effect of the mask, it is advisable to apply a little moisturizing cream. 

5. Eggshells to exfoliate

All parts of the egg can be used in natural cosmetics, and the shells are no exception. With this element you can make a very fine flour if you crush it with the help of a mortar. Then you can combine it with the following ingredients to exfoliate the skin .


  • 1 tablespoon of eggshell flour
  • 2 tablespoons of yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Mix the two tablespoons of yogurt with the eggshell powder and the lemon juice in a bowl until well integrated. 

Apply the mask on clean skin, using circular movements to remove dead cells . Let it act for 5 minutes and then rinse with plenty of water. 

In the case of having dry skin, yogurt can be replaced by liquid glycerin. And if you suffer from sensitive skin, prone to redness, lemon juice can be replaced with apple cider vinegar, applying the mask without massaging so as not to irritate it further.
