Quality stems should be at least the size of a pencil and should be obtained from a part of the plant that is located below the flowers, once they have lost their petals.

Regarding the cuttings of semi-hard stems, these are obtained in the season that goes from the end of summer to the beginning of autumn; when the new stems have partially matured.

In relation to the cuttings obtained from hard stems, they are those that take time to take root and when they do, it is with greater difficulty. The best time to cut them is late fall and early winter, as the new stems have already matured, hardened, and are dormant.
