  • 2 tablespoons of sliced ​​almonds

  • 20 gr of unsalted butter
  • 1 pinch of ground cinnamon

This is one of the easiest apple desserts to make, as it doesn’t require too many ingredients and can be made in a small countertop oven. One of the advantages of this fruit for making desserts is that it is sweet by nature, so it is not necessary to add a lot of sugar, for this reason, this recipe is suitable for people on special diets. It is worth mentioning that if there is an allergy to almonds, you can replace them with another nut.

First of all, it is good to turn on the oven at a temperature of 180 °C, preferably with top and bottom heat. If it is a convection oven, it is also advisable to turn on the fan, so that the interior is heated evenly when it comes to inserting the apples.

On this occasion, we are going to start with the filling, since the apples oxidize very quickly, so it is preferable to have this preparation ready when cutting them. In this case, we need to start by selecting a small bowl to melt the butter in the microwave, which can take about 15-20 seconds. Once the butter is liquid, add the sliced ​​almonds, sugar and cinnamon, stirring the ingredients well with a spoon.

Next, you have to wash the apples well, since this time we are going to roast them with the skin. At this point it is necessary to remove the heart. This way, the experience obtained when tasting this recipe will be better, since it is difficult to find the fiber and the seeds in the dessert. For this you can use a corer, which is the most practical way to do it; however, it is also possible to carry out this process with a spoon or a knife, but you must be patient and careful to avoid cutting your hands.

It is time to place the apples in a tray and fill them one by one with the previously prepared mixture. If necessary, you can press down with a spoon so that the almond slices remain inside the fruit. Once you have finished you have to take them to the oven, but you must make sure that the container withstands high temperatures. Baking time is 25-30 minutes at medium heat. 

Oven-roasted apples should turn a golden color, indicating that they are cooked through. Another indication that we are done is when the almonds have spilled from the fruit, this means that it is time to serve and enjoy the dessert. It is important to note that baked apples are served hot, as they taste better when freshly baked.

Finally, it is good to know that there is also a recipe for baked apples in the microwave, but in this case the baking time is reduced to approximately 5 to 7 minutes.
