Shrimp recipes are very simple to make and are liked by everyone. These are dishes that can be served at a dinner with friends and even for Christmas or New Year’s Eve dinners in which you seek to surprise or please diners. Prawns and prawns are a type of seafood that is traditionally served as a starter or appetizer in these types of celebration meals.
To start, we prepare the “majado” of garlic and parsley that will accompany the prawns. To do this, start to mash the garlic cloves in a mortar, together with the parsley and a little salt. Maja everything for a minute, so that everything crumbles. Next, add the juice of half a lemon and a little olive oil, mix everything well, mashing for another two or three minutes.
Once the mash is ready, place the shrimp on a baking sheet or on their own tray. Season with salt and spread the mashed parsley, garlic and lemon over them. Be careful to coat them all well, as they need to absorb the flavor.
In the case of shrimp, if you prefer them to be a little more tender, you can cook them beforehand. If you want to know how to cook prawns, all you have to do is put them in a pot to boil, when the water boils add them and leave them for six minutes. After this time, remove them and leave them in cold water or with ice. If you want to give it a little flavor, you can add a splash of cognac or brandy to the cooking water, for a more pleasant touch.
Once the prawns are placed and covered, preheat your convection oven to 200 degrees and, when it is hot, put the tray with the prawns and the mashed meat. Let them cook for 15 minutes, after which you will have to check them, if they are raw or hard, let them cook a little more.
When they are ready you just have to serve them and eat them before they get cold. You can decorate them with half a lemon, which will go very well as a dressing. This baked prawn dish is a good appetizer to have at a dinner with friends along with some good cold beers or a white wine. It is also a good accompaniment for rice dishes such as paella.
If you like stronger flavors, you can change this recipe slightly, passing the prawns over the coals, which will take on slightly more smoky flavors and bring out their juices. In this sense, if you do not have space to make coals in your house, you can use gas braziers, which will allow you to get all the flavor of the dish, but without having to resort to charcoal and fire.
