Ingredients:
- 100 ml of white wine vinegar
- 1 kg of chicken breasts
- 200ml olive oil
- Salt
- 3 cloves
- 50 ml of water
- 3 bay leaves
- ½ tablespoon black pepper
- ½ tablespoon white pepper
- 4 – 6 dried garlic
Other ingredients:
- A sprig of thyme if desired
Prepare the breasts and garlic
The first step to start preparing the pickled chicken is to cut the breasts into thick fillets and peel the garlic. Also, you must clean the breast, removing the fat from the outside. This will help make the recipe healthier for your body.
As for the garlic, after peeling it, we recommend chopping it into small pieces. Although this is not mandatory, it gives a better aesthetic touch to the recipe and makes its flavor more intense.
Next, you must place olive oil over medium heat in a pan and add the garlic. Once you notice that the garlic has browned, you should put the breast fillets, the two types of pepper, cloves, bay leaves and salt in the same pan. You will use this last ingredient to taste, therefore, you should try little by little to see if your recipe has the amount of salt that you like.
Later, let these ingredients cook all together submerged in the oil for 10 or 15 minutes. Cooking time may vary, depending on the size of the pan or the power of the fire. However, it is best that the oil does not boil, just use a suitable temperature that allows the correct cooking of the chicken. If the oil boils, you will have to lower the temperature of the fire a little.
Add water and vinegar
Next, add both the water and the vinegar, mixing very well, so that these ingredients are integrated with the others. Then, let the recipe cook for 15 more minutes. At this point you can add the sprig of thyme and, if you see that the time has run out and the chicken is still raw, let it cook for another 5 or 10 minutes.
Let rest and serve
Once it has finished cooking, remove the pan from the induction hob and let the dish rest for a couple of minutes. You can serve it hot if you want, but you can also freeze it and heat it the next day.
In the same way, some people recommend leaving the recipe to rest for a day, so that you can smell its aroma a little more and the chicken is juicier. Plus, you can keep some in the fridge to enjoy whenever you want. You can even accompany this pickled chicken breast with a delicious chicken salad, rice or simply a piece of toast. And, if you want it to look more professional, serve the recipe on beautiful dinnerware.
