Ferroli boiler errors and their solutions

Ferroli is a widely known Italian brand in both heating and cooling equipment and systems. It has a wide catalog with modern equipment options that stand out for their efficiency. In this context, if you come across a diesel boiler that starts and stops or a Ferroli gas boiler with problems, the first thing you should do is check the control panel screen. What are the possible errors of Ferroli for boiler?

A01 – Boiler Ferroli does not start the heating.

Cause

1. A) Lack of fuel in the boiler (if you click here, you will find several options to buy), possibly because the supply has been blocked or the valve has been damaged.  
2. B) Faults with the electrodes.  
3. C) Low pressure in the system.  
4. D) Plugging in the smoke outlet.  
5. E) Siphon blocked.  

Solution

1. A) Replace the valve, to allow the passage of gas.  
2. B) Maintain the electrodes or change them if they have been damaged.  
3. C) Increase the internal pressure to level it.  
4. D) Clean the chimney of the installation and unclog it if necessary.  

 

A02 – Boiler does not light burner, but activates the signal.

Cause

1. A) Problems with the electrodes.  
2. B) Problems with the card.  

Solution

1. A) Check the integrity of the wiring used by the ionization electrode and clean the siphon.  
2. B) Configure or replace the card, depending on the case.  

 

A05 – Fan damaged.

Cause

1. A) Insufficient electrical voltage.  
2. B) Fan failure.  

Solution

1. A) Check the condition of the 5-pole connector cable, to change it if it has been damaged.  
2. B) Check if the fan needs adjustment or replacement.  

A06 – The flame goes out after turning on the boiler.

Cause

1. A) It has been detected that there is instability in the flame.  
2. B) Possibly a damaged ionization electrode.  
3. C) The smoke outlet has been blocked.  
4. D) The siphon has become clogged.  

Solution

1. A) Adjust the burner of the Ferroli diesel boiler.  
2. B) Correct the electrode, either by reinstalling or replacing with a new one.  
3. C) Remove whatever is obstructing the smoke outlet.  
4. D) Do maintenance to the siphon.  

 

A07/F07/F14 – Increase in smoke temperature.

Cause

1. A) The smoke probe has been activated after detecting excess heat.  

Solution

1. A) Check the condition and operation of the smoke probe and the heat exchanger.  

 

A08/A09/F08/F09 – High temperature protection has been activated.

Cause

1. A) Possible fault in the heating sensor of the Ferroli diesel boiler.  
2. B) There is no water circulating through the installation.  
3. C) Detection of air in the circuit.  

Solution

1. A) Replace the heating sensor if it is damaged or correct its position.  
2. B) Check the operation of the water circulation pump.  
3. C) Do a purging session to remove air.  

 

A10/F10 – Exit sensor failure.

Cause

1. A) There is an operating problem in the boiler, located in the output sensor of the equipment.  

Solution

1. A) The status of the sensor should be checked to make sure it is not faulty. Otherwise, it must be replaced by a functional one.  

A11/F11 – Return sensor failure.

Cause

1. A) Faults have occurred in the return sensor.  
2. B) Wires shorted.  

Solution

1. A) Check the return sensor for damage or replace it.  
2. B) Check the integrity and condition of the wiring, to change it if necessary.  

F12 – The water does not work in the boiler, but the heating does.

Cause

1. A) Faults with the sensor and boiler does not heat domestic water.  
2. B) Possible short circuit  

Solution

1. A) Check the integrity of the DHW sensor and, in case of damage, replace or repair.  
2. B) Check the status of the installation wiring, to change it if necessary.

A13/F13 – Problems with the smoke probe in the Ferroli boiler.

Cause

1. A) A short circuit has been detected in the installation wiring.  
2. B) There is a problem in the smoke probe.  

Solution

1. A) Check the status of the wiring, to check its integrity. It must be replaced with a new one if it has been damaged.
2. B) Check that the smoke probe is not damaged. Otherwise, replace.  

 

A14 – Fault in the smoke outlet duct.

Cause

1. A) The computer has presented the error F07 3 times in the last 24 hours.  

Solution

7. A) Address the mentioned error with the solution method for F07.  

A23/ A24/ A26/ F15/ F20/ F21/ F40/ F47/ F50/ F51/ F53 – Card parameters fault.

Cause

1. A) The parameters of the boiler card were incorrectly configured.  

Solution

1. A) Review the card configuration and modify the erroneous parameters, to rectify the problem.  

A56/F56 – Problems with boiler calibration.

Cause

1. A) Parameters entered during calibration are incorrect.  
2. B) The electrode could be damaged or installed incorrectly.  

Solution

1. A) Verify calibration parameters and recalibrate.  
2. B) Replace faulty electrodes after verifying their fault.  

An old Ferroli diesel boiler probably needs another type of attention than that of a modern model.
