top 5 chinese cars

Faced with its older image, of insecure low-cost cars, the new Chinese cars threaten the market position of the usual brands, with a mixture of quality and reasonable prices. Something that changes the market and gives drivers more options when it comes to getting a new vehicle.

Traditionally, talking about Chinese cars meant talking about cheap vehicles, but whose characteristics were not the best. It is easy to find videos on Youtube of old Chinese cars turned into scrap metal by a simple Euroncap test, which showed that the quality and safety of these vehicles were more than doubtful.

Fortunately, both for drivers and for the rest of those involved in traffic, this trend has been reversed significantly. We have the proof in vehicles like the MG ZS EV, which has had no problem achieving 5 stars in the Euroncap test that we have been commenting on.

This fact demonstrates the path that Chinese manufacturers are following in order to conquer the world market. We are talking about vehicles in which quality and safety are taken care of considerably, especially given the harshness of the tests to which vehicles are subjected in Europe. Something that is also noticeable on the outside, with European-style finishes, although retaining a certain Asian touch.

So that you have more clarity about what to expect from these cars, we analyze some of the most outstanding proposals of the different Chinese car brands that are already in Spain. However, it is important to know that the information regarding the presence of these Chinese cars in Spain is scarce, so it will cost you a bit to get one of them, if you wish.

1.DFSK iX5

The DFSK iX5, or Dongfeng iX5, is an SUV with conventional dimensions within this market sector and a coupé-like silhouette. Among the most outstanding details of this vehicle we find a driving mode selector, as well as quality finishes, in a spacious and pleasant interior. In addition, it is one of the Chinese cars currently marketed in Spain, with a price of 28,500 euros as a base cost.

2.MG ZS EV

Among Chinese electric cars, we find the MG ZS EV. A vehicle with an English touch, since it comes from MG, the legendary English brand that today is part of an Asian group. This vehicle mounts 44.5 kilowatt car batteries, offering a power of 143 horsepower and acceleration from 0 to 100 in about 8.2 seconds. Regarding its autonomy, it reaches 263 kilometers, with fast charging, to recover 80% of the battery charge in about 40 minutes. Some parameters that are finished off with two interior finishes, Comfort and Luxury, as well as prices of 30,313 and 32,289 euros respectively, depending on the version chosen.

3. Baix X55

Coming from one of the best-known Asian manufacturers, this SUV is an interesting proposition for the urban environment. This model has a Mitsubishi engine with a 1.5-liter turbocharger and 148 horsepower, also having a hybrid version with LPG. 4.ZD D2S

Although we do not know if it is the cheapest electric car on the market within its segment, the truth is that this model would be a strong candidate for such an honor. We are talking about the ZD D2S, from the Invicta group. This vehicle has a 27-kilowatt battery, a very interesting compact design for the city and an average range of around 250 kilometres, making it an economical solution for urban mobility for those who do not want to make long trips. 5.BAIC BJ20 2019

As the last proposal of this selection, we have the BAIC BJ20 2019. Where to buy these vehicles

If you have come this far and want to know how to get one of these cheap Chinese cars, there are a couple of details that should be known. One of them we have already mentioned, and it is the problem with the availability of these vehicles. Although their releases in Spain are already officially executed, you may have some problem finding them.

The other part of the problem has to do with where to buy a Chinese car. Unlike the big brands, Chinese car dealers in Spain are not their own. That is, although there is a Ford, Renault or Seat dealership, the same does not happen with the dealerships of the brands that we have mentioned. These are sold in multi-brand dealerships or in other similar establishments, which makes it difficult to find these vehicles in our country. However, a couple of searches on the internet can help you find where to get the car you are looking for.
