Methods to undo editing changes in Word

Next, we offer you a couple of tips with which you can undo certain changes in the Word document, to make it more comfortable to edit:

  • Format

To delete a format in Word that has already been customized by the editor, go to the page of interest in the document and select all the text with the mouse or with the keyboard shortcut. Next, find the Clear All Formatting button on the toolbar, press it, and you’re all set.

  •  Comments

Removing comments in Word that have been added by other participants during editing is quite simple and often necessary if you want to work without hassles.

If you are wondering how to delete comments in Word, you just have to position the pointer on the page of the document where the comment has been added. Find it, right-click on it and select the Delete Comment option.

  • page breaks

Removing page breaks in Word will prevent your document from inadvertently flipping from page to page, which can cause reading continuity issues.

To remove the page break in Word, go to Show All and click the button, so that all page breaks appear in the document. Choose the one you want to delete, double click on it and choose Delete.

  • Lines

To remove line breaks in Word, click Line and Paragraph Spacing. This will display a menu where you must select the option to Remove space after the paragraph and that’s it.

Another useful shortcut to delete a line in Word is to position the pointer at the beginning of the sentence and then press Shift + Down, which will move the pointer to the bottom line by selecting everything before it. Now you just have to press Delete or Backspace and it will be deleted. You can also select all of Word in the same way, if you want to delete all the information.

  • Edition

If typing erases it, you should probably take a look at the Insert key, since tapping it once activates Substitution mode in Word, which causes each letter you type to replace the space or the next letter. However, just by pressing it again, it will be deactivated and you can edit without problems.

In case you come across a locked selection in Word that you cannot delete, it is because the file has been protected by the author and can only be opened in Read mode. If you are the owner of the document, to remove the protection, simply open it and go to the Review tab, then to Protect and enter Restrict editing. Once here, find the Stop protection button and click on it, to remove it and be able to edit the document.

As you can see, you have several answers to the question of how to delete a page in Word, so you can choose the most appropriate one depending on what you want to delete.
